RDUE: Ensuring the legality of your forestry operations
Does your company sell wood to customers located in France or the European Union and wish to continue doing so from the beginning or middle of 2026?
Richard EMEYRIAT
The
EU Deforestation and Forestry Regulation (EUDR)
imposes new requirements on
forest operators, traders, and companies in the timber industry
.
From
2026 , only
legal, traceable, and deforestation-free
timber and timber products
will be allowed on the European market.
Forêt Logistique Conseil supports you in anticipating these obligations , securing your practices and ensuring regulatory compliance of your forestry operations .
As a forestry professional, when your company buys and harvests timber, it must ensure the legality of that harvesting. This is mandated by the French Forestry Code, the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), and the PEFC and FSC forest certifications. As a professional, you have a duty to advise individuals from whom you purchase timber, informing them of the legality of the harvesting on their land. From 2026, the EUTR (European Regulation against Deforestation and Forest Degradation) will require your company to provide proof that the timber it sells has been legally harvested.
