Publication of timber harvesting statistics in France for 2014

The statistics published on the Agreste website (Ministry of agriculture, food and forest) show an increase in timber harvesting in 2014 compared to 2013. With 37,7 million m3 harvested, 2014 finds the same level of harvesting recorded in 2007.

The analysis of the quantities used by the quality of the wood shows a continued increase in energy wood mobilisation in the form of wood chips, with 2,3 million m3 mobilised in 2014. Over the long term, the distribution of softwood lumber (BO), industrial wood (BI) and energy wood (BE) has gone from 60/30/10% in the 2000s to 50/30/20% in the 2010s.
